I am so with you on that, Karen. I love looking in other people’s sketchbooks, their studios AND I like to look at people’s book shelves . I lost part of my collection of sketchbooks in a move several years ago. I have always said that after my family, the one thing I would run back into a burning building to save would be my sketchbooks! Right now I have 14 volumes going back to 2000. I date the pages so I can get a sense of where I was creatively. Also, sketchbooks can be quite the time capsule. I have clipings of news articles, notes about important dates (like the day President Obama accepted the Dem nomination or when I went to get my business license and became official). Really bad poetry sometimes shows up too, lol.
