Is it February already? Goals for February, my BIRTHDAY MONTH!

Like a lot of you, I can’t believe January is already gone! I belong to a fun group of business minded artists who have joined forces to share their art goals each month. I will start with a recap of my January goals and then move on to lovely February.
January recap:
- spend at least 5 hours a week on marketing and social media (done/ongoing)
- complete special orders (2 out of 4 )
- complete show quilts (1 out of 2)
- research new exhibition and art show opportunities (done/ongoing)
- send newsletter
- draw/paint everyday (so far so good 7-10 pm every evening)
- collect supplies for May art retreat (1/2 way there)
- participate in reading challenge (completed 3 out of 12 books so far!)
Goals for February 2010
- complete tax prep
- draw/paint everyday
- create a piece of art in celebration of PISCES women everywhere!!
- update business and marketing plan
- develop a new pattern
- declutter studio!
- New photos of work for website
- continue reading for reading challenge
Well that’s it. Check in next month to see how I did. I can’t wait to see myself, LOL. PS that purple chunk of rock is an amethyst — my birthstone. Sorry but I can’t remember where I saw it on the internet. If you know please tell me so I can give the photographer credit. Pretty, huh?

business plan fever indeed! Wow, you had a very productive January, that’s the kind of month I am hoping for in February. You’ve got a great list going for February, and Thanks for the reminder to celebrate the things we get done, soooo important. Happy February (and Birthday) Deborah!

Ha ha, thanks, Kristin. Yeah. I celebrate something like the 12 days of Christmas for my birthday. I do something fun each time. So far I have started a new painting and bought a few new books for myself.
Liz, thanks for the good wishes. I do try to keep a balance between the business and creative side of things. As I am sure you know, sometimes it’s a struggle.
Candy, so far I am loving the time in the evenings. Even when I am tired I get recharged with paint and dye. Last night I gessoed some canvas for two new pieces I want to complete this month. Yippee. The weekends are still my most concentrated time to focus.

Wow you did great in January! Good luck with achieving your February goals. If your studio is anything like mine the declutter will be a hard one! Have a great birthday!

First Happy Birthday!
I love the fact that on the monthly bus goal post you said to celebrate when you complete an item. We tend to focus on what we didn’t accomplish and beat ourselves up over it, instead of giving ourselves a pat on the back for the progress we made.
