Block Party Quilt Along

I joined a virtual quilting bee. Block Party Quilt Along is centered around virtual quilting bees.  What happens is the hosts of the group post a block for everyone to make.  They give instructions/suggestions on the many ways to make a block and then invite  group members to post their blocks to this flickr site.  Sounded like too much fun to pass up.  Though I typically use my own designs in my work I also love taking traditional patterns and putting a contemporary funky spin on them. So here is my version of the Friendship Star — the block for the block this quarter.  I plan to name this quilt Peace Y’all.
